We are seeking a experienced Accountant to join our team in the finance industry. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing both high-level and detail-focused accounting tasks. This position will play a pivotal role in our finance department, ensuring the accuracy of financial data, preparing financial reports, and providing financial information to the company's management team. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for non-profit work. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with various departments and contributing to the financial health and sustainability of the organization.

Responsibilities:

Work with the accounting team to develop work papers for annual audits and IRS Form 990.
Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely month-end close.
Collaborate with the various departments on the funding pipeline, providing financial insights and recommendations.
Work closely with the Revenue Specialist on monthly contribution entries and reconciliations.
Generate monthly reports from various fundraising platforms and reconcile them with bank deposits.
Ensure compliance with all internal policies, regulatory requirements, and non-profit accounting standards.
Analyze financial data and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand.
Participate in budgeting and risk management processes.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
Two to four or more years’ experience in accounting; non-profit experience preferred.
Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting and legislation.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software.
Excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial reports and forecasts.
Exceptional attention to detail.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership ability, confidence, and executive presence – ability to motivate staff.
Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
