SUMMARY
The City of Bend's Transportation and Mobility Department is actively recruiting for two (2) full-time, seasonal/temporary General Laborer positions going into the winter operations season. Temporary positions are limited-benefit eligible, ‘at will’ temporary, non-represented positions.

This class performs a wide variety of manual semi-skilled duties during our winter operations season:
This is an entry level position into a Public Works career serving the community by accomplishing the visions and goals of the Department and the City through excellent internal and external customer service, teamwork and producing outstanding results.
This class performs a variety of manual tasks of an unskilled or semi-skilled nature in the repair and maintenance of City facilities such as streets, water systems, wastewater systems, cemetery, airport, and other City properties depending on area of assignment. More experienced employees may operate a variety of equipment on a limited basis.
DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS
Distinguished from the Street and Water Utility series, incumbents are entry level with minimal experience and certifications required.

- Clearing snow on roundabouts, ADA ramps, sidewalks, and various City rights-of-way using a variety of power and hand tools.
- Right of way landscape maintenance on City rights-of-way.
- Assist crews with pothole patching and other road and cemetery maintenance activities as needed.
- Field related labor tasks - site cleanup and/or other assigned duties.
