General Laborer - MasTec Communications Group

MasTec Communications Group performs wireline communication services on a national scale. We are experts in cell tower construction, RF engineering, broadband fiber optic cable installation, OSP engineering, wireline construction, and emergency maintenance services.

MasTec is seeking Structured Cabling Technicians (with or without experience).

We are looking for someone who has Voice data experience. 

The ideal candidate must possess the following:

• Experience working with pair, coax, Category 5e, Category 6, and Category 6A, single and multi-mode fiber optic cables.
• Cable installation experience that includes pulling, placement, terminating, testing, and labeling.
• BICSI cert (current or past) is a plus, but not needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Pulling and routing CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cable in new construction and existing structure commercial environments.
• Terminating data jacks.
• Installing support structures (ladders, racks, J-hooks).
• Building out cable closets (MDF/IDFs).
• Installing, troubleshooting, and repairing telephone, data, and fiber optic cables.
• Installation of Surface Mount Raceway.
• Testing and certifying cables with Level V test equipment.
• Adhering to all quality and safety codes.
