Job Summary:
As a Commercial Construction Estimator you will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by providing accurate and competitive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. Working closely with our project management and business development teams, you will be responsible for analyzing project specifications, conducting site visits, and collaborating with subcontractors to determine project costs. Your expertise will contribute to our ability to win projects and deliver them on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
Cost Estimation:
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documents to prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
Utilize industry-standard estimating software and tools to ensure precision in estimating materials, labor, and overhead costs.
Site Visits:
Conduct on-site visits to assess project requirements, gather relevant information, and identify potential challenges or opportunities.
Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gain insights into project scope and objectives.
Subcontractor Coordination:
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor bids and proposals to ensure competitiveness and adherence to project requirements.
Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to enhance collaboration and obtain the most competitive pricing.
Budgeting:
Develop detailed project budgets, including itemized cost breakdowns, to guide project management and ensure financial success.
Provide input during the design phase to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
Risk Analysis:
Identify and assess potential risks associated with construction projects and incorporate risk factors into cost estimates.
Collaborate with project teams to develop strategies for mitigating risks and maintaining project profitability.
