Responsibilities:
Supervisory: Manage and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and support as needed; work with direct reports to set goals and objectives and track progress.
Month-end: Manage the month-end close process, including reviewing and posting journal entries, completing account reconciliations, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
General Ledger: Maintenance of general ledger system, chart of accounts and related accounting controls as required.
Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant accounting standards.
Audits: Coordinate preparation of documentation and support required for internal and external audits and corporate tax returns. Address audit inquiries and implementing recommended improvements to accounting practices.
Inventory & Cost Accounting: Proficient in inventory accounting, standard costing, and cost of goods sold.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including audits and adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Internal Controls: Assist in implementation and maintenance of a strong system of internal controls, ensuring accurate financial data and mitigating risks of fraud or error.
Technical Accounting Research: Conduct research on accounting issues. Research and provide opinion on proper accounting treatment for new processes. Maintain knowledge of the standards, policies, practices, and procedures of the generally accepted accounting principles.
Process and System Improvements: Identify opportunities for and support the implementation of process improvement and automation within accounting systems to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls and improve accuracy.
Serve as a key point of contact between Accounting team and other departments, ensuring accurate financial data flow and resolving any discrepancies with cross functional partners
Backup for other members of the Accounting department during vacations. Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA preferred but not required.
Experience:
Requires greater than eight years of progressive and related experience in finance, accounting or audit.
Proven experience in management.
Experience with CPG industry desirable, manufacturing company required.
Familiarity with IFRS compliance is highly desirable.
Experience with Sales Tax system (Avalara a plus)
Understanding of Sales Trade Spend accruals, tracking and reconciliations.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Technical Skills: Proficiency with accounting software (Microsoft Dynamics BC a plus) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Strong understanding of GAAP.
Soft Skills: Excellent organizational, and communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a dynamic environment. Self-starter capable of working independently and cross-functionally.
Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting and data management. Highly organized with strong attention to detail with a sense of urgency.
Problem-Solving: Ability to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve accounting discrepancies and process inefficiencies.
Physical Requirements:
General office environment, ability to sit for long periods of time, ability to move about an office.
Will require minimal travel (less than 5%)
Environment:
Exposure to disagreeable elements is limited.
Safety:
The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely without endangering the health or safety of self or others.

Annual Pay
Annual Pay Range
$95,428.00 - $143,090.00This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate’s starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role.
