Job Overview:
The General Ledger Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing our general ledger accounting functions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies. This dynamic position involves a variety of essential accounting tasks that are crucial to the success of our business. Key responsibilities include handling monthly reconciliations, streamlining accounting processes, reviewing AP/AR transactions, and supporting the month-end close. Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Maintain, reconcile, and resolve reconciling items in the general ledger accounts monthly, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Prepare monthly journal entries and support the month-end close process, producing timely and accurate financial reports.
- Manage and maintain fixed assets, including depreciation schedules and disposals.
- Support Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) accountants to ensure accurate financial records, and function as the backup for AP and AR as needed.
- Assist in optimizing accounting procedures by identifying areas for improvement, automating repetitive tasks, standardizing workflows, and implementing technology solutions to reduce manual data entry.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and regulatory standards, helping mitigate risk.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand business needs.
- Assist with annual audits and tax preparation.
- Contribute to various ad hoc tasks as needed.

Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting.
- 3-5 years of experience in general ledger accounting.
- In-depth knowledge of GAAP and internal controls.
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with accounting ERP systems (Dynamics AX preferred).
- CPA certification preferred.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
