3rd Shift - Full Time
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
- Set up, operate, and support CNC vertical turning centers to produce high-quality parts safely and efficiently.
- Utilize various components and equipment, including metal cutting tools, tool holders, and precision measuring instruments.
DESCRIPTION:
- Review manufacturing documents for operation sequences and setup information.
- Identify and assist in loading workpieces onto machines.
- Set up and align parts using work holding equipment.
- Assemble cutting tools for operations and index cutting inserts as needed.
- Load CNC programs and perform trial runs to ensure accuracy.
- Operate CNC turning centers using process instructions and G & M codes.
- Adjust machine parameters as required.
- Perform close tolerance machining operations on large steel components.
- Conduct in-process inspections to maintain quality standards.
- Make program changes as necessary and assist in unloading processed parts.
- Clean workpieces and maintain a tidy work area.
- Adhere to safety and inspection requirements while performing all tasks efficiently.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1-3 years of hands-on CNC machining experience with demonstrated skills.
- Ability to read and interpret part drawings and blueprints.
- Proficient in quality inspection techniques using various measuring tools.
- Basic knowledge of machine shop math and practices.
- Familiarity with machining terminology and procedures.
- Proven safe work history.
TOP CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
- Experience with CNC turning centers or lathes, particularly with steel and metals.
- Familiarity with Siemens controls and operator interfaces.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- Location: Caterpillar manufacturing facility, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
- 3rd Shift
- Full-Time Position
- Pay: Step 1 - $32.17/hr, Step 2 - $33.51/hr, Step 3 - $34.85/hr + $1.00 shift premium.
