GCP Data Architect from Elgebra
About the Job
Key Responsibilities:
- Architecture Design: Craft scalable and reliable data architectures on GCP, encompassing data ingestion, storage, processing, analytics, and visualization for diverse data types (structured, semi-structured, unstructured).
- BigQuery Expertise: Design and optimize data warehouses and data marts in BigQuery, ensuring optimal performance, security, and cost-effectiveness
- Data Pipeline Development: Build robust and efficient data pipelines leveraging GCP services like Dataproc, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions.
- Data Modeling & Governance: Establish data models (conceptual, logical, physical), metadata management processes, and data governance policies to ensure data integrity, quality, and compliance.
- Python Proficiency: Fluency in Python for data manipulation, transformation, analysis, and working with GCP APIs.
- SQL Mastery: Expert in SQL for data querying, analysis, and integration across GCP services.
- Collaborate & Mentor: Partner with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable data solutions. Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 10+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Architect or a similar role, with a strong focus on GCP with minimum of 5+ years
- Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of GCP services (BigQuery, Dataproc, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, etc.), Python, and SQL.
- Analytical Mindset: Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Project Management: Experience in managing data-related projects and delivering solutions on time and within budget. Desired Skills (Bonus Points):
- Experience with machine learning and AI concepts on GCP (Vertex AI, BigQuery ML)
- Working knowledge of streaming data technologies (Kafka, Apache Beam)
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (Looker, Google Data Studio, Tableau)
- Cloud certifications on GCP (Professional Data Engineer, Professional Cloud Architect)
