Technical Specialist II Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
This role provides in-depth knowledge of the pressure, temperature, flow and /or analytical products to effectively support customers requirements and provide solutions for technical difficulties. This role will require demonstration of skills including calibration (NIST and ISO/IEC 17025), maintenance, and repair. Additionally, knowledge and experience with optical instrumentation (i.e. OTDR, OSA) is preferred but not required.
DUTIES/RESULTS
- Duties will involve in-depth knowledge of the pressure, temperature, flow and /or analytical products to effectively support our customers and provide solutions for technical difficulties.
- Will research problems for and with the Technical experts, conveying answers to customers when appropriate.
- Will acquire and maintain a current knowledge of technology and hardware applicable to the assigned line of products.
- Document all customer calls in calls database, i.e.CRM, and treat this record as quality document.
- Job duties may require travel on "field serviceā trips to customer sites to identify and resolve problems individually or as a team member.
- Duties will involve identifying and reporting potential quality problem in service or products to Technical management.
- Responsible for providing uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated area of responsibility.
- Will assist in developing training programs for new hires and refresher training for existing personnel and customers for assigned products.
- May assist in checking and approving the quality of repaired products in the repair center.
- May alternate after-hours technical support duty with other specialists within the Technical Assistance Center.
Education & Experience:
- High School or Vocational School diploma preferred plus 2-4 years experience or applicable technical training or degree with no experience.
- Must have basic understanding of electronic and/or technical and engineering support tools required to perform required tasks. Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities is important
Physical Demand: While performing the duties of this job the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is required to talk, hear, and reach with hands and arms to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds. The vision requirements include depth perception, ability to adjust focus, close vision, and color vision.
