Job Title: Gas Inspector (Seasonal)
WPS, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking Gas Inspector (Seasonal)'s in our Green Bay, Wisconsin location.
Job Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Inspect the installation of natural gas facilities in accordance with Company standards.
- Accurately measure and record all of the information for: natural gas main and service records, pay sheets and any other necessary forms.
- Protect life and property by proper evaluation of emergency situations. Implement the Company’s Gas Emergency Procedure including evacuation and ventilation if necessary. Determine severity of the situation. Communicate to the dispatcher, customer and/or assist emergency response personnel.
- Provide customer service. Assist contractor with customer communications and scheduling.
- Perform other duties as assigned. Which may include but are not limited to; maintenance of exposed facilities, material pick up and delivery, watchdog/standby.
- Specific tasks needed to perform this role will be based on OQ task list. This list can and will change over time.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Valid drivers license.
- Must have a minimum of one year of natural gas distribution and/or natural gas construction experience.**In lieu of the experience, an individual must possess a Gas Utility Construction and Service Technical Diploma or equivalent Technical Diploma (the Technical Diploma is equivalent to one year of required experience for pay/progression purposes).
- Completion of technical school program in natural gas distribution or equivalent diploma is preferred.
- Past experience in utility construction is helpful.
- Past experience as a gas facilities inspector is preferred.
