System One has partnered with a world-renowned aluminum manufacturer in Hubbard, Ohio to find Furnace Operators. This company produces large diameter aluminum ingots and billets, rectangular slabs, and cast plates.
In this role, the Furnace Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Melting Furnace and associated equipment. This includes dry cleaning, charging, skimming, sampling, temperature control, alloying, and transfer of molten metal to the holding furnace.

- $1,000 Sign on bonus
- Pay: $19 - $23/Hr. *Based on Experience*
- Day and Night Shift - 7AM-7PM
- Follow a Continental Schedule 2 on 2 off; 3 on 2 off.

What you'll need:
- High School diploma or GED
- Legally authorized to work in the United States; verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire, Visa sponsorship is not available for this position
- Physical effort required by the job includes standing, stooping, pulling, pushing, climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Satisfactorily complete the Ellwood Aluminum Crane and Forklift certification training programs
- Judgment and decision-making abilities to prevent errors, scrap parts, safety hazards, or other poor results pertaining to job duties.
- Ability to read and interpret work documents such as operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, quality instructions, and other related documents
- Willing to be part of a winning team and able to work all shifts, flexible hours and mandatory overtime and cross train.
- Must pass minimal physical test and background screening
- Heavy equipment experience (preferred)
What you’ll do:
- Strict adherence to safe charging practices
- Capable of safety operating heavy equipment such front end loader, combi lift etc..
- Organization and housekeeping of the furnace and scrap storage areas, cleaning and basic maintenance of related equipment (charge car, skim car, forklift, etc.)
- Control of the melting furnace and related equipment
- Preheater operation
- Record and maintain pertinent production data in an accurate manner.
- Tell management about potential issues that may arise or are currently affecting production in a timely manner
