The Manager, Fundraising and Donor Relations plays an important role in developing donor engagement execution, as well as in supporting critical tasks connected to donor events and communications. This role will be exposed to and involved in all elements of fundraising and donor relations work. The Manager, Fundraising and Donor Relations will formulate and execute strategic plans for personal outreach and engagement, segmented email and social media communications, cultivation and stewardship events, and partnership opportunities. The role will report to the Vice President, Fundraising and will require deep collaboration with the marketing and programming departments. Data-driven candidates with an enthusiasm for project management and an interest in supporting donor experiences will thrive in this role. This is a full-time role working on site at our office in Fort Lee, NJ.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Manager, Fundraising and Donor Relations reports to the Vice President, Fundraising and supports the work of the entire team in the following functions:
Donor pipeline management (40%):
- Develop strategic engagement plans to identify, qualify, educate, cultivate, solicit, and steward donors in the individual giving portfolio
- Create research briefs and profiles on current donors and prospects
- Manage data analysis of donor giving
- Own the maintenance and accuracy of prospect lists to inform strategies and outreach
- Lead the coordination and set up of donation, event ticketing, and other campaign pages with the marketing team and outside vendors
Donor relations and solicitation (40%):
- Draft fundraising outreach materials, proposals, and meeting talking points for leadership and board members as needed
- Develop messaging and data segmentation for fundraising appeals across all media channels, with a focus on email and social media campaigns, collaborating with the marketing department on creative design and execution
- Develop and implement plans for donor events and experiences, with a focus on creating opportunities for donors to directly engage with our work and mission
- Engage with donors at events, via thank you calls and emails, and in solicitation calls or meetings as needed
- Must be available to work a flexible schedule and/or travel to attend fundraising events and programming as needed
Project management, administrative, and logistics (20%):
- Serve as the project manager and driver on special department projects related to donor relations, engagement, and solicitation as needed
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- A minimum of 4 of years relevant experience, with a preference for background in development, fundraising, donor engagement, and/or event planning
- Advanced Proficiency in Salesforce
- CRM tools and the ability to run reports and synthesize information
- Demonstrated ability with project management tasks and ability to change gears as needed.

- Strong writing, editing, verbal, presentation and public speaking skills
- Excellent judgment and creative problem-solving skills
