Fundraising Intern - Girl Scouts of Connecticut Inc

Position Summary

Part-time volunteer internship position at Girl Scouts of Connecticut in the Fund Development Department. This position will assist the Fund Development team with securing financial support from individual donors and community sponsors  for GSOFCT annual fundraising appeals, such as, but not limited to, direct mail & online appeals, special events, and recurring donor program. Tasks include assistance with writing appeals, editing digital platforms, follow up outreach and phone calls to donors, vendors, and volunteers, assisting with donor acknowledgments/correspondence, and general duties to support the work of the Assistant Director of Fund Development.

This position is ideal for students majoring in Communications, Public Relations, Business, Marketing, English, or Nonprofit Studies.

Major Accountabilities

• Completes GS101 Training modules online and develops an understanding of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience.
• Assists with researching local organizations interested in supporting Girl Scouts of Connecticut. Determines how to best contact these organizations and/or submit a letter of interest/proposal.
• Completes standard grant applications and reports under the guidance of the Grant Writer and Director of Institutional Giving.
• Embraces and enhances a culture that values diversity and reflects the Girl Scouts of Connecticut’s commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Skills:

• Basic computer skills with basic/intermediate experience in Microsoft Office, especially Word and Excel, and using the Internet for research.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of, or ability to learn, current girl issues and GSUSA programming.
