ORGANIZATONAL SUMMARY
POSITION SUMMARY
The Fundraiser and Programs Managing Directorwill manage the tactical improvement of fundraising strategies, appeals, and Alzheimer’s research information programs communications as well as the combined federal campaign and state charitable solicitation registrations. The person in this position will manage a small team with efficiency and work with the management team to increase Alzheimer’s awareness and brand of the Foundation. The Fundraiser and Programs Managing Director will set up overall fundraising and communications approaches; create, edit and share content for internal and external communications; and oversee the Foundation’s social and digital media sites and tools. The Fundraiser and Programs Managing Directorwill create, implement and evaluate all fundraising and press campaigns, while championing the Fisher Center Foundation’s overall mission.
DUTIES
1. Analyze retention and attrition trends to refine offerings that will develop and support donor relationships, increase engagement, and attract new supporters.
2. Communicate regularly with donors and stakeholders.
3. Oversee deadlines calendar for proposals, regular reports, annual reports, grants, and letters of inquiry drafts for review and prompt submission.
4. Plan, create, and implement compelling fundraising initiatives, direct mail, online appeals, and campaigns scheduled for the Foundation throughout the year.
5. Raise Alzheimer’s awareness and funds using the Foundation Center, Wealth Engine, Combined Federal Campaign and state charitable solicitation registrations.
6. Represent and promote the Fisher Center at conferences and events.
7. Collaborate with the data team to record donations in the Salesforce, track appeals and campaigns progress.
8. Collaborate with Writer scientists to publicize research studies, write press releases, and pitch media to generate coverage.
9. Collaborate with Writer an outsourced editorial team to produce triannual magazine.
10. Write a biweekly e-newsletter about research articles; manage and work with Creative Marketing Manager and Writer on all organization and program marketing and communication materials.
11. Oversee the content for the foundation’s website and social platforms: Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook.
12. Coordinate with Writer to capture inspirational stories about Alzheimer’s patients and/or caregivers whenever possible.
13. Other fundraising and program communications duties as assigned by Executive Director.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business, Public Relations, Journalism, Communications, or some other relevant field.
· Minimum seven years’ experience in fundraising and communications roles in a non-profit setting.
· Minimum four years’ supervisory experience.
· AFP certification or other national and international association a plus.
· Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to simplify research information into clear, compelling narratives.
· Terrific understanding of donor strategy and leverage points to refine results.
· Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize deliverables.
· Prominent level of professionalism and excellent judgment in handling sensitive information.
· Proficient in Microsoft 365: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive and SharePoint; and experience using Salesforce and Asana platform.
Working Conditions
· Business smart attire is the style of dress; prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and using computer monitors.
· The position in an office with normal work week is in-person Monday through Friday.
Travel Expectations
We predict travelling to meet with donors and research directors 2-5% during the fiscal year as well as attend occasional fundraising events as a representative upon the request of the Executive Director.
