Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Functional Safety Engineer specializing in Software/Systems to join our client’s team. In this role, you will lead and support functional safety activities across the software and systems development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 standards. This is an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge automotive technologies, including ADAS, Cockpit Domain Controllers, and Instrument Clusters.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and collaborate in preparing Development Interface Agreement (DIA) documents with internal and external teams/customers.
Ensure safety plan activities align with project milestones and deliverables.
Provide functional safety expertise for automotive products, including ADAS, Cockpit Domain Controllers, and Instrument Clusters.
Conduct safety analyses such as HARA, DFMEA, FTA, and FMEDA, ensuring comprehensive safety coverage.
Analyze and interpret safety manuals provided by external vendors, deriving requirements based on Assumptions of Use (AoUs).
Provide guidance to systems, hardware, and software teams for the implementation of functional safety requirements.
Plan and oversee safety validation activities, including fault injection testing.
Review and analyze functional safety concepts, requirements, and test results from vendor-supplied systems.
Perform software tool development and qualification in compliance with ISO 26262 standards.
Organize and manage project meetings to ensure alignment across teams and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in functional safety design, analysis, and implementation.
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of ISO 26262 standards.
Hands-on experience with safety analyses, including HARA, DFMEA, FMEDA, and FTA.
Strong understanding of automotive safety processes and methodologies.
Proficiency in functional safety tools and methods, including software and systems development.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional team interactions.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with advanced automotive systems such as ADAS and Cockpit Domain Controllers.
Familiarity with safety validation techniques, including fault injection testing.
Ability to interpret vendor safety manuals and translate them into actionable requirements.
Proficiency in organizing and managing cross-functional project activities and meetings.
