The Functional Family Therapist is responsible for providing mental health assessment and counseling intervention services for youth. The Therapist provides quality holistic services, utilizing the FFT approach, continually monitoring and documenting youth's mental well-being and overall adjustment to the program. This position's functions are performed as part of a multi-disciplinary team and include development and implementation of treatment plans. The Therapist works closely with the administrative team to ensure therapy hours are consistent with youth's needs, and assists with the overall operation of clinical services.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Conducts mental health assessments, assesses the youth's situations and provides proper ongoing treatments.
- Provides crisis intervention services for all youth, screens for human trafficking concerns.
- Implements various treatments and protocols to provide guidance and appropriately address youth behaviors.
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Educates and involves family members or other loved ones in the treatment process when necessary.
- Creates individualized treatment plans according to patient needs and circumstances.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with ability to listen actively.
- Positive and compassionate attitude, solid relationship-building capabilities.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of Master's degree in human services, mental health, psychology, or related field.
- 2+ years of clinical experience working with youth or in a residential setting.
- An independent license is not required but preferred.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Flexible schedule (evening, weekends, holidays) to facilitate program services.
- Cleared background checks from appropriate entities.
- Must have a valid driver's license and be eligible to drive to facilitate program services as required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- May lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently, up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds infrequently.
- Performs tasks that may involve standing or walking 50% of the day; sitting 50%of the day.
- May bend, stoop, reach and grasp as necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $65,000.00 per year
