About the Job
The Pharmacy Technician is responsible to perform duties as directed by the Pharmacy Manager for the successful operation of the Pharmacy department. The Technician is responsible to see that all Kennie’s customers are provided with the best customer service available. The Pharmacy is closed on Sundays.
Requirements:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: No prior experience required. Training will be provided.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Follows pharmacy security procedures
Applies paid stickers as needed for proof of purchase
Notifies appropriate personnel in cases of theft or shoplifting
Checks bottom of the cart
Ensures proper handling of all forms of tender and coupons
Properly counts and enters cash into register system
Verifies information on check and if acceptable, enters and properly tenders check into register system
Properly handles, counts and enter food stamps, EBT and WIC into register system
Ensures coupons are valid and properly entered an credited to correct department
Maintains a neat and organized till
Performs product scanning and processing of customer's orders in an accurate, efficient, and prompt manner
Asks for the customer's Kennie’s Card and if they do not have one offer to sign them up for one
Ask for coupons and accounts for all products in and under the cart before beginning the order
Scans each item so it is properly identified by the register system
Merchandise handling, produce, chips, bread, chemicals, don't throw merchandise
Obtains prices for items not identified by the register system and notifies management of any price discrepancies
Adheres to company uniform policy and name badge policy
Assists with front end maintenance and cleaning.
Performs fixed activities as assigned by Frontend Manager
Cooperate with fellow department employees and with other departments when inter-departmental or store wide promotions warrant.
Responsible to obey all safety standards as well as loss prevention standards as outlined by the company.
Perform other appropriate duties as directed by the Frontend Manager, Assistant Frontend Manager, Cash Office, Assistant Store Manager or Store Manager.
