You will be working with engineers and internal operators specializing in Computer Vision, Artificial Intelligence, and Sports Logistics.
The group ensures an end-to-end software solution runs efficiently for real-time delivery of data from thousands of sporting events every year. Second Spectrum is building a comprehensive system responsible for producing and distributing its highest quality and lowest latency tracking, skeletal pose, eventing, and video streams to date.
You will design and develop the services required to execute all parts of this process for thousands of basketball and soccer games every year.Specifically, you can expect to:Develop web applications that power our Computer Vision-based tracking system.Contribute across our stack, from web frontend, backend API’s, and databasesMaintain best practices for software development, including deployment process, documentation, and adherence to and improvement of coding standards.Discuss and distribute knowledge, technical concepts, and ideas with any member of our diverse organizationPerformance analysis and monitoringAbility to lead technical discussions and feature prioritizationMinimum Qualifications3-5+ years software engineering experienceExperience building web applicationsExperience with ReactExperience with SQL & relational databasesSoftware engineering experience: modern software development practices and tools, distributed systems, database systems, performance tuningStrong appetite for learning and working with technologies used by other engineering teams within the companyBachelor’s in computer science or equivalent experiencePreferred QualificationsExperience with TypeScript Experience with GraphQLExperience with Three.js, HTML5 Video, and/or CanvasExperience with RustExperience with ffmpegExpertise with the Elixir packages for server-side development: Phoenix, Ecto, ex-awsPrior leadership responsibilities, including deploys and release management with technical and non-technical staffExperience building real-time, interactive web frontend experiencesOur StackServer-side:  Node, Rust, PostgreSQL, RabbitMQ, Golang, Pulsar, Elixir/PhoenixClient-side: JavaScript/TypeScript, React, Three.js, HTML/CSSInfrastructure: AWS EC2 and S3, Docker, Linux, Grafana, Prometheus, Loki.Version Control: GitWhat’s in it for you?As well as a competitive salary and annual leave allowance, our benefits include health insurance, skills training and much more, depending on the location.
We also offer a host of softer benefits, including many social events throughout the year such as summer and winter holiday parties, monthly team building events, sports tournaments, charity days and wellbeing activities.   The base salary range for this role is $130,000 – $180,000.
There are a number of factors which affect what the specific pay offer would be for this role, including location, seniority, and relevant educational and working experience.
This is base salary only – all full-time roles will also be eligible to take part in Genius benefits and equity plans, and some roles may be eligible to take part in a variable compensation plan.
