WORK LIFE BALANCE (THREE DAY WEEKENDS!)
Your schedule will be four 10-hour work days with three day weekends every week; giving you extra time to enjoy life outside of work! Occasional work required outside of normal business hours. Schedule can vary depending on the need of the clinic.

Essential Functions
- Assist in training and onboarding of new technicians, and provide leadership to technicians on the floor.
- Oversee daily patient flow.
- Assist veterinarians in all aspects of AHS' wellness clinic including managing medical appointments, radiology, ultrasound, surgery, laboratory diagnostics, fluid therapy, urgent care as necessary, the administration of prescribed medications, client education and clinic asepsis.
- TPR, administer vaccines and other medications, implant microchips.
- Check in/check out patients.
- Assist veterinarians and technicians in the evaluation, surgery, and recovery for patients.
- Perform anesthesia, prep, fluid therapy, laboratory procedures, injections, and medication.
- Proficient in radiology positioning.
- Monitor vital signs of sedated and anesthetized patients in preoperative, operative, and post-operative phases.
- Proficient in laboratory testing and IDEXX/Antech machines.
- Intubate animals, place intravenous catheters, perform venipuncture, and administer fluids as needed.
- Comfortable handling and logging controlled drugs.
- Knowledge of general medications and treatments used.
- Offer post-operative care to our pets.
- Maintain all records and documentation in our clinic management software.
- Offer an excellent experience every time to our customers. Offer compassionate communication and clear home-care directions for their pets.

Experience and Qualifications
- Two years experience working as a veterinary technician at a full service clinic or hospital required.
- High school diploma OR GED
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
Language Skills: Able to speak, read and write English; Spanish language helpful.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to perform basic mathematical functions.
Computer Skills: Proficiency with Daysmart preferred, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Explorer; able to learn other software programs as necessary.
Other: Regular attendance and punctuality required. Access to reliable transportation.
Work Environment / Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
There may be occasional wet floors, animal noises, odors, and exposure to dander. Most time will be spent in a typical air conditioned and heated environment.
