We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our team in the Construction Industry. This position will play a critical role in managing our financial operations and ensuring our projects are financially successful. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of all aspects of bookkeeping and will be responsible for payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, full cycle A/P, and A/R. This position will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our business.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee all financial operations including A/P, A/R, payroll, bank reconciliations, and tax compliance.
2. Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.
3. Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries, analyses, and account reconciliations and assisting with monthly close processes.
4. Maintain the chart of accounts and keep clear and comprehensive financial documentation.
5. Collaborate with other team members to improve financial procedures.
6. Manage the payroll system and maintain updated records of payroll transactions.
7. Oversee the preparation and timely filing of all local, state, and federal tax returns.
8. Develop and maintain financial accounting systems for cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and petty cash.
9. Review and approve all invoices and ensure they are paid on time.
10. Manage the preparation of the company’s budget and financial forecasts.
Qualifications:
1. 5+ years of experience as a Full Charge Bookkeeper in the construction industry or a similar role.
2. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3. Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles.
4. Extensive experience with data entry, record keeping, and computer operation.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel and QuickBooks or other accounting software.
6. Experience in services related to payroll such as writing checks and submitting payroll taxes.
7. Strong understanding of business and income tax worksheets and computations.
8. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a changing environment.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and analytical abilities.
10. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer service focus.
