Job Description:
This position is a part-time position starting at 10-25 hours a week (flexible and candidate can choose the amount of hours) with the potential to increase hours to full-time if candidate is interested. It can also remain part-time longterm. Very flexible on ALL work schedule options. This role includes customer interactions. You will work with our assistant bookkeeper and executive coordinator to maintain clients' books from beginning to end in a monthly cycle.

Responsibilities:
- Data entry of monthly transactions for small and medium-sized businesses, both digitally and manually in multiple different accounting software.
- Process quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
- Monthly reconciliations of bank accounts, loans, credit cards.
- Production and analysis of financial reports.
- Responding to email requests from customers.
- Processing low-volume payroll
- Processing worker's comp audits and general liability insurance audits.
- Filing monthly/quarterly/annual sales tax in CA (experience with multiple states is a bonus, but not required).
- Understanding CA HR and labor laws is a plus, but not required.
- Completing large project bookkeeping
- Recognizing errors in prior bookkeeping and performing extensive cleanup work to repair financials and implement new accounting systems for clients.

Requirements:
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a bookkeeping setting with multiple clients over various industries.
- 3-5 years of experience using QuickBooks and Excel
- Experience processing payroll with multiple providers and reconciling quarterly and annual payroll tax returns.
- Experience processing and uploading 1099s through IRS Fire system.
- Experience in financial analysis including reviewing, posting, sending, and analyzing financials with clients.
- Experience with cleanup and project bookkeeping (starting a new client with no books and cleaning up incorrect or fraudulent books).
