Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Full Charge Bookkeeper with construction industry experience to join our team. This role will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of the company, including payroll, billing, collections, and month-end reporting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with foundation construction software, a background in construction-related accounting, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
You will work closely with the owners, the HR department, and accountants, and will be supervising two others who assist with inputting lien releases and related tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounting & Bookkeeping:
- Manage full-cycle accounting, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheets and profit & loss statements.
- Handle adjustments for over- and under-billing, ensuring accurate billing processes.
- Process payroll in-house for 75-125 field employees and 10-12 office employees.
- Administer 1099 and W-2 forms.
- Ensure accurate and timely bank reconciliations.
- Work with accountants, including end-of-year reporting for the CPA and individual tax filings.
- WIP and AIA
- Billing & Collections:
- Manage progress billing cycles and ensure timely invoicing and collections.
- Handle ADP billing and ensure alignment during the year.
- Oversee lien release processing and other administrative input with assistance from two direct reports.
- Supervision:
- Supervise and provide support to two team members responsible for administrative tasks such as lien releases.
- Travel & Per Diem:
- Manage logistics for out-of-town work, including issuing per diem checks and setting up payments for hotel accommodations.
- Software:
- Utilize Foundation Construction Software for job cost tracking and accounting processes.
- Familiarity with Viewpoint and Timberline software is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 3+ years of full charge bookkeeping experience, ideally within the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and construction-specific billing practices (AIA, WIP, progress billing, lien releases).
- Proven experience working with payroll, including in-house processing.
- Experience with both W-2 and 1099 forms, and handling tax-related filings.
- Experience with construction-specific software (Foundation Construction Software; Viewpoint and Timberline are a plus).
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and reconciliations.
- Skills:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: Competitive salary in the range of $70,000 - $80,000 (open to negotiations for the right candidate will present at desired salary above $80k)
