Full Charge Bookkeeper at Sparks Group

Job Summary/Company:
Sparks Group has partnered with a long standing, family owned business to identify a full charge bookkeeper to join the industry leading team. Well qualified candidates will have over 5 years comprehensive bookkeeping experience with a self sufficient personality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Process and record payroll transactions, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.- Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
• Manage cash flow and prepare cash flow reports.- Handle sales tax and other tax-related filings.- Conduct month-end and year-end close processes.
• Prepare and assist with audits.
• Develop and implement accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Provide financial reports and analysis to management.
• Coordinate with external accountants for annual tax filings and audits.
• Ensure compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
  

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
• Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Experience with payroll processing and tax filings.
• Knowledge of financial reporting and analysis.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
