Join our innovative team as a Fuel System Designer/Environmental Engineer and play a pivotal role in shaping communities across the United States. In this role, you will lead our Fueling Design team, ensuring the seamless design and AutoCAD drafting of construction plans for fuel storage tank installation projects nationwide. Your expertise will be instrumental in understanding project needs, parameters, and agency requirements to deliver exceptional project deliverables.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize AutoCAD proficiently to produce construction plans and assist in the design of fueling systems.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager to comprehend and meet design requirements.
- Prepare project schedules, cost estimates, and specifications adhering to project requirements and industry standards.
- Ensure plans are permittable and constructible, coordinating with clients, cities, counties, and agencies to advance projects.
- Coordinate design and submittals with subconsultants, reviewing timeliness, processes, and fees.
- Perform SPCC inspections, prepare and certify SPCC Plans, or review and certify plans prepared by others.
- Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the preparation and design of fueling systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and the ability to follow CAD standards.
- Previous experience designing fueling systems in California, with a comprehensive understanding of state requirements.
- Proven track record in coordinating and communicating with cities and clients in the preparation of designs.
- Experience in preparing Submittal Packages to City Plan Checkers.
- Self-motivated, product-driven, and capable of collaborating with the team to meet project and client deadlines, as well as project budgets.
- B.S. in Civil or Mechanical Engineering (preferred).
- Current knowledge and familiarity with AutoCAD Civil 3D (preferred).
- Valid Driver's License.
- Professional Engineering (PE) or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with CUPA regulations for UST installation, Fire code regulations for AST installations, CARB regulations, Phase I & Phase II requirements, and equipment suppliers (highly preferred).
- Previous experience with SPCC Plans (preferred but not required).
- Familiarity with fuel design systems, pumps, valves, site layouts, and components (highly preferred).
- High attention to detail and exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to drive to job sites, client meetings, or city offices for plan submittals.
- Capability to walk job site locations when needed.
- Occasional carrying, lifting, pushing, or pulling of plans ranging from 1-20 lbs.
