Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Payroll Status: Hourly/Non-Exempt
Reports to: Director of Maintenance
Purpose: Responsible for performing highly technical duties to install, replace, troubleshoot, repair and maintain fuel dispensing and Point of Sale Equipment. Should possess a firm knowledge of Veeder Root Automatic Tank Gauging and Leak Sensing Equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform technical duties involving Dresser Wayne and Gilbarco Fuel dispensing equipment. Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments. Perform repair and service of card readers in dispensers (CRINDS).
- Ability to install, troubleshoot, maintain and update Point of Sale (POS) equipment; Commander/Ruby Verifone and Gilbarco (G-Site) Point of sale technology.
- Understanding of Veeder Root TLS 350 Automatic Tank Gauging Console and Leak Sensing/Inventory equipment (or similar fuel monitoring system).
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Ability to work with weights & measures dept to ensure proper equipment calibration and certification.
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on fuel dispensing equipment.
- Perform general troubleshooting duties with electrical and plumbing equipment. Use a variety of hand and power tools, electrical meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Comply with OSHA rules and regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Possible overnight travel, less than 10%
Qualifications and Requirements
- HAZMAT certified first responder preferred; Confined space entry certification preferred
- Must possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License and meet pre-employment screening requirements including drug screen and background check
- Previous experience with Gilbarco or Wayne Dispensers preferred
- Basic computer skills including MS office, email required, previous Point of Sale experience preferred
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently
- High School diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and maintenance experience.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. Must be able to life and move objects weighting up to 75 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing throughout the course of the shift. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle or feel and reach. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
