About the Job
System One is hiring Fuel Handlers for Spring Outage Season. Must have been badged at a nuclear power plant within 365 days.
Conduct visual and technical inspections of nuclear fuel assemblies and related components. Identify and report any abnormalities or potential safety concerns. Maintain accurate records of fuel movements, inventory, and inspections. Prepare and submit reports in compliance with regulatory standards. Follow established radiation safety protocols, ALARA principles, and site-specific procedures. Wear and maintain proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and radiation monitoring devices. Work closely with reactor operators, maintenance teams, and engineering staff during fuel handling operations. Participate in training programs to maintain qualifications and certifications. Proficiency in operating fuel-handling equipment and familiarity with reactor systems. Understanding of radiological controls, criticality safety, and nuclear regulatory requirements. NRC or equivalent qualifications for fuel handling (as required by plant-specific guidelines). Ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks in high-radiation areas. Capacity to pass fitness-for-duty evaluations and maintain physical readiness for emergency response.

Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
- Previous experience in nuclear plant operations or fuel handling is highly desirable.
