About the Job
Role Description
This is a full-time Optometrist role based in Houston, TX. The Optometrist will be responsible for performing comprehensive eye examinations and prescribing corrective lenses or providing other treatments as necessary. They will also diagnose and manage ocular diseases and work closely with the team to ensure patient satisfaction.
Qualifications
Doctor of Optometry degree (O.D.)
Current state license to practice optometry in the state of Texas
Demonstrated proficiency in performing comprehensive eye examinations, including binocular vision, stereopsis, color vision, and visual acuity testing
Demonstrated ability to diagnose and treat ocular diseases and conditions, including glaucoma, dry eye syndrome, and macular degeneration, among others
Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex medical concepts to patients in a clear and understandable manner
Effective time management skills and ability to handle a high volume of patients while maintaining a high standard of care
Excellent attention to detail and strong customer service skills
Schedule: Monday to Friday (9-6) and Saturday (9-3)
Language: Spanish (Preferred), English
Additional certifications and experience in specialized areas of optometry such as contact lenses or pediatric optometry.
Our office is equipped with new technology including Maestro OCT, Topocon CA-800 Topographer, Oculus Easyfield Visual Field, autorefractors, NCT, icare, and Crystal PM EMR. We practice full scope optometry with emphasis on medical eye care.
