Are you passionate about food safety and quality management? Do you have a keen eye for detail and a solid background in the food manufacturing industry? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you! We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced FSQA Manager to join our manufacturing team. This permanent position is a key role within our organization, responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of our food safety and quality assurance program.
Responsibilities:
As an FSQA Manager, you will:
- Lead, manage and develop the FSQA team, ensuring compliance with all local, state, federal, and international regulations related to food safety and quality.
- Establish, implement, and maintain the company's food safety and quality management systems.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs), and other food safety and quality standards.
- Develop and implement robust HACCP plans, allergen control programs, and preventative controls.
- Coordinate and manage third-party audits, including SQF, Kosher, and HALAL certifications.
- Investigate and resolve any food safety or quality issues, implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Work closely with production and operations teams to ensure optimal product quality and safety.
- Provide technical expertise and training to staff on food safety and quality matters.
- Continually review and update FSQA policies and procedures to reflect current best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong knowledge of food processing, food microbiology, and food science.
- Proven experience with PCQI, SQF, Kosher, and HALAL standards.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, food quality, and sanitation principles.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in the use of quality management systems and related software.
- Certified SQF Practitioner is required.
