Job Summary
The Food Service Assistant for Holland is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and orderly condition of Holland as well as the daily operation of its cafeteria. Provides food service to both individuals and staff. Responsible for compliance with DPW and health department standards, as well as Woods Services policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:- Follows a cleaning schedule to ensure the orderly and sanitary condition of all areas of Holland both inside (bathrooms, program/classroom areas, offices, windows/sills, cafeteria, kitchen, lights, vents) and out (gazebos, walkways, pavements, windows).
- The schedule will include, but is not limited to the following: floor care (sweep/mop/vacuum), trash removal and disposal, sanitation, scrubbing, dusting, and organizing.
- Responsible for food prep and service according to all relevant standards and scheduled menus. Cooperation with dieticians and medical services in the delivery of individualized diets.
- Responsible to maintain inventory and distribute and/or stock all assigned areas with necessary supplies as needed.
- Completes checklists and timely reporting of all maintenance concerns to management.
- Completes and/or assists in the completion of temperature (food, water, dishwasher), infection control, environmental, and quality assurance reports, as assigned.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized work environment, which includes being respectful of shared space and the assurance of inventory and the maintenance of all materials and equipment.
- Educates and engages individuals in the appropriate completion of housekeeping tasks. Works with individuals with the necessary skill set and interest in utility, janitorial, or food service to improve and increase skills for future employability. Monitors performance and reports concerns to management for follow-up and assistance.
- Attends and participates in training sessions, staff meetings, and special events or assignments, as requested.
- Displays professionalism and maintains effective working relationships with all levels of staff and management.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet needs and ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of programs.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Related kitchen and housekeeping experience preferred.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
