Overview:
To instruct, supervise and assist residents with activities of daily living through daily routines and to carry out scheduled activities and programs. Supervise staff and programs in absence of the Director/Assistant Director of Residential.
Responsibilities:- Assist residents in the performances of residential programs and daily routines
- Accompanies residents on community trips/activities
- Provides guidance and support to residents in decision making
- Complete all necessary documentation, as well as checks all other staff documentation, medication sheets and all paperwork required by program guidelines
- Select and supervise activities which are appropriate to each student’s capabilities
- Attend residential and behavior meetings, orientation and in-service training sessions
- Follow behavior programs
- Assist students in preparing well-balanced meals
- Complete scheduled household chores
- May be required to acquire a working knowledge of sign language, alternative augmentative communication systems and knowledge of the deaf culture dependent upon the population served
LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES;
- Complete/monitor daily student logs, adherence to behavior program including data keeping
- Complete food requisitions according to established menus, ensuring balanced meals, oversee all special diets under supervision of Program Manager
- Under direction of the Residential Supervisor, complete activity schedules including trip planning, arts and crafts activities, cooking and recreational activities both on and off campus
- In absence of Residential Manager, assist and oversee general cleanliness of bathrooms, bedrooms and all common areas
- Ensure residents are dressed appropriately and in a manner which respects the residents’ rights and dignity
- Communicate medical problems to nursing staff
- Assist staff with required paperwork to ensure maintenance of physical plant
- Attend program meetings/behavior meetings and any other meetings upon request of Residential Supervisor
- Is required to know and read through current CIS and BSP
- Supervise and train assigned staff ensuring that students’ individual goals and objectives are followed in accordance with their CIS and BSP

- Be at least 21 years of age and;
- Have a high school diploma or its equivalent and shall have at least one of the following:
- a. A Associates degree in the field of Residential Care, human services, education, counseling work, psychology or recreation
b. 1000 hours of experience working with children either as a paid employee or volunteer, plus 60 college credits, including a minimum of 12 credits in the fields specified in 2a
c. 2000 hours of experience working with children plus 24 credits in the fields specified
- a. A Associates degree in the field of Residential Care, human services, education, counseling work, psychology or recreation
- Have a high school diploma or its equivalent and shall have at least one of the following:
