The Center for Performing and Fine Arts (CPFA) is an adjunct, audition-only pre-professional training program for accepted students of PALCS in grades 6-12. CPFA offers educational programming in Dance, Music, Theatre, and Fine Arts.
Summary:Our Front Desk Receptionist position is the first impression of our school. The incumbent will be the first person to meet and greet our families, candidates and business associates. Our front desk person will present a warm, professional appearance and demeanor and will become proficient in the school's programs. This role will require the ability to multitask while maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
Essential Duties- Open the CPFA facility each morning at 7:45 am.
- Answer phones, respond to public inquiries made by phone, and monitor general email.
- Take responsibility for office supplies inventory and ordering.
- Greet, assist, and /or direct students, families, visitors and the general public.
- Exhibit a professional and welcoming demeanor to all visitors to our school.
- Take attendance and track absenteeism, lateness, etc. Create daily attendanc reports.
- Coordinate and maintain all internal and external communications .
- Receive, process, and distribute mail and deliveries.
- Assist in maintaining the CPFA calendar and schedule of events.
- Other duties as requested by the Director of Student Services.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 1-3 years of experience in a customer service role and/or office administration
- Strong written and oral communication skills using both formal and informal styles as appropriate for audience and purpose
- Ability to interface in an empathic and supportive way with staff, students, parents, and the community at large.
- High degree of organization and attention to detail
- Excellent time management, organization, multitasking and prioritizing
- Proficient technology skills: Google Suite, Microsoft Office, email, web-based data programs.
- Ability to work independently
- Physical: Normal vision, speech, hearing, walking, sitting, standing, lifting, stooping, bending, grasping, keyboarding, and filing ability. Must be able to lift or move items weighing approximately 25 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Mental: Positive Attitude, analyzing, problem solving, decision making, and writing.
