AMSG is seeking a Front Desk Customer Service Representative (CSR) to support our Customers at the Department of Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy in Frederick, MD.

The Veterans Affairs Acquisition Academy (VAAA) was created in 2008 to address the growing acquisition workforce challenge facing the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and the Federal Government overall. The VAAA trains the acquisition workforce, including existing and future contracting professionals, program and project managers, facilities managers, supply chain managers, and logisticians. VAAA training meets the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP) certification mandates and ensures VA has a qualified and certified acquisition workforce to deliver and manage the goods and services Veterans need, when and where they need it.
Location: Full-time, onsite at VAAA located at 7485 New Horizon Way Frederick, MD
Education: BA/BS degree preferred
Years of Experience: 2-4 years of experience in business management or customer support
Responsibilities
The candidate will provide the following:
- Provide support to VAAA students, instructors, and employees with administrative tasks, such as making copies, printing documents, faxing documents, gathering supplies, and announcing building visitors.
- Receive, respond, and track daily administrative task requests from ESS customers and stakeholders.
- Maintain the “VAAA Employee Name and Phone Number List”.
- Provide Academy front desk coverage during the hours from 7:30 a.m. ET to 5:00 p.m. Monday – Friday, except for Federal holidays.
- Direct Academy visitors and students to their destinations.
- Answer incoming calls to the Academy and respond to the caller’s general questions or forward/direct the caller to the appropriate point of contact (POC).
- Handle requests for general assistance received from visitors and students in an efficient
- and timely manner.
- Perform a variety of other office tasks, such as faxing and emailing.
- Create VA temporary badges for visitors and students, as needed.
- Inform appropriate POCs when visitors arrive at the Academy.
- Handle incoming and package outgoing mail per the VAAA Mailroom SOP.
