Freight Forwarding Operations Supervisor- Bilingual Korean Speaking - Wallenius Wilhelmsen

The Freight Forwarding Operations Supervisor will be responsible for managing all forwarding tasks for both imports and exports including supervision of operations for projects in North America. This role will also maintain external client and supplier relations as well as promote the forwarding department to increase business, reputation and revenue.

Please note-This is a hybrid role based in Parsippany, NJ. You will be required to come into the office every Tuesday and Wednesday. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Provide day-to-day logistics coordination (operational and administratively) for our Digital Supply Chain Solutions (DSCS) Operations EMEA customers
• Operational coordination, planning and monitoring of service provided to DSCS and our customers
• Negotiation of freight costs with customers and preparation of offers/tender responses
• Maintain positive relationships with customers to drive new business growth
• Ensure follow up on Customer Satisfaction within set framework
• Prepare and deliver accurate and competitive quotations in a timely manner to both import and export customers
• Update financial documents on funds ensuring accurate cross referencing between cash-in and spreadsheets
• Liaising with our partners overseas regarding manifests, invoices, surrender & corrections or alerting them of potential issues
• Meet the departments Way of Working daily processes/customer feedback log
• Timely creation and processing of approvals for all invoices
• Produce and update spreadsheets and databases to accurately record information for import and export shipments
• Complete all import and export entries for the business and on behalf of other agents, ensuring customers are kept up to date with local regulatory procedures
• Assist in other areas of the wider business as reasonably required and within skills level

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• Must have the ability to communicate fluently in English and Korean
• Minimum 2 years experience in a Supervisor, Team Lead or similar role handling land based Freight Forwarding/ LLP product(s)
• Proven ability to manage complex negotiations
• Demonstrable ability to working under pressure and tight deadlines
• Self-directed, self-motivated with the ability to work effectively as an independent contributor.
• Excellent organization and time management skills; demonstrated through effective prioritization of tasks
• Excellent problem solving and communication skills
• Ability to interact with customers both face-to-face and over the telephone in a professional and confident manner
• Ability to meet changing priorities and business needs in a flexible manner
