Client Overview:
Our client is an established retailer specializing in items for men, women, and children. They are looking to bring on a talented Freelance Merchandise Assistant to help assist with day to day needs in New York.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$19/hr – $20/hr
Position Overview:
The Freelance Merchandise Assistant will be working closely with the Merchandising and Buying teams. Includes creating and monitoring purchase orders, assisting with the creation and distribution of weekly sales reports and more. This Freelance Merchandise Assistant role requires strong organization, strong Excel skills, the ability to pick up on new systems, and communication with all cross-functional teams and external partners.
Responsibilities of the Freelance Merchandise Assistant:
- Take charge of the purchase order lifecycle.
- Provide weekly and monthly reporting and sales analysis.
- Display proficiency with Microsoft Excel (utilizing functions such as vlookups and pivot tables)
- Communicate regularly with vendors.
- Track shipments, deliveries and transfers, discrepancies.
- Ensure timely delivery of merchandise through communication directly with the buyer, Merchant teams and external vendors as the Freelance Merchandise Assistant.
Qualifications for the Freelance Merchandise Assistant:
- Proficient in Excel (v-Look ups, pivot tables).
- Experience within a retail or fashion role.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organizational, planning, and administrative skills.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
