Fractional / PT Controller - Sr Accountant - Bocada

Are you ready to take on the full range of financial oversight for a global software company? Do you have other commitments that make a part-time or flexible work schedule perfect for you? Bocada is looking for a part-time controller / senior accountant who can do it all. We are looking for a progressive manager who will cover all the nuts-and-bolts of operational accounting while driving systems automation and performing financial planning and analysis, and budgeting. Bocada is a team of ‘doers’ and we are looking for a hands-on person (this is the only finance role in the company) willing to roll up their sleeves to tackle any level of work that needs to be done.  

The Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping functions: accruals; accounts payable; accounts receivable using QuickbooksOnline. 

• Publish monthly financial statements and review them with the CEO. 

• Drive an annual budgeting process and track budget to actuals through the year. 

• Work with operating teams to find ways to reduce cost and drive financial automation. 

• Manage state sales tax collection and remittances. 

• Work with HR vendors to process monthly payrolls and assure tax compliance. 

• Work with our tax firm to assure timely filing of annual tax returns. 

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: 

• Bachelor degree in accounting or finance is required, CPA preferred 

• 10 years of progressive accounting and financial management experience 

• Experience working with international businesses 

• Experience working in software development or technology companies 

• Broad range of functional financial management experience 

• Strong communicator and team player 

• Ability to work independently and drive outcomes
