Boston, MassachusettsOpen to RemoteFull Time$150k - $165kOur client is seeking a skilled and experienced engineer to lead the design and development of circuit boards for SONAR equipment and systems, with a specific focus on FPGA design.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design efforts for circuit boards, ensuring optimal FPGA integration. Collaborate with mechanical engineers to design PCBs and electronic packages. Oversee the layout of circuit boards, guiding component placement and trace routing to maintain high signal integrity. Manage board bring-up activities, working closely with other engineers to verify product functionality. Develop and implement board-level tests and procedures to confirm electrical and engineering specifications are met. Work cross-functionally with engineering teams to address engineering changes, new product transitions, and bills of material (BOM) management.
Job Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE), with a Master’s in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) being a plus. A minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in electronic circuit design, particularly in FPGA design and verification. Proficient in digital design, Verilog HDL coding (experience with Xilinx Vivado is preferred), and the use of test benches for FPGA design verification and timing. Demonstrated leadership ability, self-motivated, and a team-oriented mindset. Must be able to share knowledge, learn from peers, and collaborate across teams. Some limited travel may be required. Previous experience in the marine or SONAR industry is advantageous.
