What will you do to contribute to the company's success
- Analyst is responsible for a full range of activities which ensure the operational effectiveness and excellence of the organization.
- Responsible for contributing towards detailed Budget and Forecast Plans for the various areas of responsibility, while working closely with department leaders and their direct reports. The Analyst will also be responsible for aiding in preparing actual vs. forecast analysis for presentations to leadership.
- Responsible for analyzing the organization's financial and operating statistics, and proactively identifying areas of opportunity in the organization.
- Serve as a support resource to other FP&A analysts as well as managing work flows for the larger Finance and Investor relations projects that require multiple resources (i.e Budget, Forecast).
- The Analyst II should have the ability to transform large amounts of data into a clear compelling story, including querying data, interpreting data, building and stress testing financial models, and communicating action-based recommendations to Executive Leadership Team.
- The Analyst II should have a working knowledge of financial strategies along with an ability to analyze companies, synthesize Industry Research, synthesize Company Research and understand the implications to Cable One.
- The analyst should realize thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task through attention to detail and clearly defined processes and possess the ability to do so with minimal supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of tactical and strategic initiatives to support organization objectives and identify strategies for implementation. Collaborate with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team to implement overall best practice processes to support those initiatives.
- Proactively identifies opportunities for operational and financial improvement. Present findings to FP&A and assist in implementation.
- Receive and respond to questions from the organization related to operating results.
- Track and analyze operational trends and variances and compare analysis against service standards and best practices; distill results to management and provide recommendations for overall operational/business improvements.
- Prepare routine reports (financial results, financial metrics, statistical, competitor, market share, etc.) for executives, management, and others; aid in the production of complete and accurate organizational profit and loss statements.
- Work closely with interdepartmental and external data teams to identify and maximize information and technology to improve business processes.
- Maintain a positive professional work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations.
- Contribute to a complete and accurate 5-year operational and capital forecast.
- Contribute to the production of a 2-year rolling forecast.
- Assist the FP&A team in the facilitation of the Finance Steering Committee, which includes reviewing ROI models for accuracy and providing feedback to project owners.
- Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; and 3 years analytical experience and/or training required.
- Ability to create advanced interactive and variable financial models with measurement tools including NPV, IRR, WACC, ROIC, ROA, and ROI.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point).
- Working knowledge of accrual and cost based accounting.
- Strong Interpersonal, written, and presentation skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
- Self-starter, needing little motivation and direct supervision.
- Intermediate knowledge of accounting, including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement.
- Must be able to maintain confidential information
