The Memphis Grizzlies Foundation is a non-profit organization dedicated to harnessing the power and promise of sport to transform lives, through mentoring. The Foundation is focused on funding and creating youth mentoring and development programs that young people discover and meet their potential.
The Foundation Content Coordinator is a full-time position intended to help support our social media, communications, and engagement strategy. This role will assist with key projects primarily focused on creating content for @grizzcommunity accounts and Foundation website, including posting, writing story lines, and serving as the liaison for the department’s creative needs and presentations. In addition, this individual will provide research assistance on best practice trends and work with internal departments to create high levels of awareness around the Community Engagement and Foundation’s missions and impact.
The Foundation Content Coordinator will work in a team environment consisting of the collaborative partnership of the Grizzlies Foundation direct service programs (MENTOR Memphis Grizzlies & TEAM Mentor Program) and the Community Engagement team.
In This Role You Will:- Support the Foundation and Community Engagement team’s objective to tell our story to the online community through feature articles, videos, mentor stories, blog posts and social media channels;
- Produce newsletters (internal & external) and maintain all in-arena graphics;
- Design program one-pagers, graphics, and annual reports/presentations;
- Serve as the lead for the departments Media/Early Content Day scripts and catalogue content;
- Maintain and update the Grizzlies Foundation website;
- Compile reports on web and social media stats and analytics and present suggestions for brand and goodwill improvement in order to maximize the impact of our website and social media channels;
- Lead the department’s bi-weekly broadcast and social media meetings;
- Coordinate all multimedia content development, communications and engagement strategy with internal stakeholders to streamline workflow;
- Serve as the department social media content creator while adhering to the overall organizational strategy aligned with program goals and objectives;
- Serve as the department photographer as needed;
- Oversee the joint TeamUp calendar for Community Engagement and Grizzlies Foundation to ensure proper reporting and analytics;
- Assist with mentor recruitment efforts and execution of activations as needed;
- Provide administrative and programmatic support to the Executive Director of the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation and Vice President of Community Engagement;
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a journalism, communications, marketing, public relations or related degree.
- Minimum of two (2) years working experience working within corporate social responsibility, non-profit management, cause-marketing or related position that includes leveraging technology to advance execution of strategy.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and public speaking skills.
- Strong written skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive, resilient, high level of integrity and emotional intelligence.
- Experience coordinating multi-faceted projects and strategies.
- Demonstrates ability to partner with and influence others and the ability to work in a team environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Canva, Hootsuite, Adobe Suite and the internet.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and holidays, as required.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced/complex organization.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel between program/activation sites and Foundation office.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in website management including creative content, feature writing and analytics preferred.
- Knowledge of sports and entertainment, specifically NBA basketball.
