Foss Professional Learning Specialist
Successful curriculum implementations are the result of exceptional planning and service delivery execution. The FOSS (Full Option Science System) Professional Learning Specialist is responsible for providing high-quality professional learning and ongoing support for all FOSS districts and partners in their region. As a critical team player and content expert, this role will help support districts by designing high-quality professional learning experiences that will elevate teacher practice and create successful long-term implementations.
The base salary range for this role is $70,000-$95,000 Annually.
Summary of Primary Responsibilities
- Communicate with customers to learn their unique contexts and design a professional learning plan that meets their needs.
- Deliver remote and onsite professional learning throughout the year.
- Maintain records of professional learning services and communications with customers in OneForce.
- Assign professional learning to the consultant team when required.
- Manage medium-sized on-site professional learning logistics and PL design.
- Review post-session survey data to identify trends in customer feedback.
- Participate in product and pedagogy training to elevate your own practice.
- Assist the FOSS Curriculum Specialist with projects throughout the year.
- Share observations of customers’ experiences with the product to inform development and training services.
- Engage in internal professional development, such as being observed, receiving feedback, and being coached to support your own development and consistency in professional learning delivery.
- Serve as a model for per-diem professional learning consultants.
- Bachelor’s degree in education or related field or comparable experience.
- A minimum of 3 years teaching or coaching with the FOSS science curriculum at the PreK, K-5, or 6-8 grade levels.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate professional development for teachers and/or instructional leaders, both remotely and in-person.
- Experience navigating remote meeting platforms (Zoom, Google Meets, Microsoft Teams, etc.)
- Demonstrated proficiency with technology-based productivity tools, including Microsoft Office, Google Applications, etc.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong digital organizational skills.
- Strong writing, project management and organizational skills
- candidate must work well independently with minimal supervision
- This position requires 50-70% travel, which may include overnight travel.
