About the Job
The Forklift Operator II is responsible for making sure materials are supplied to where they are needed on the production floor to maintain an uninterrupted flow. This individual will operate material handling equipment, e.g. forklifts, to load, unload and support all functions of the Hattiesburg operation. They will also be required to operate hand-held scanners and other related items to support the operation. This function may include product shipment, receipt of raw materials from suppliers, staging parts at the assembly and machine shop operations. Other duties include supporting line changeovers, cycle counting and other assigned tasks that relate to the position.
Specific Responsibilities:

Load/Unload all types of material in support of plant operations on a daily basis. Utilization of forklifts or pallet jacks required. Material includes, but not limited to Engines, Steel Pallets, Purchased Items, and Transfer Material from other Kohler sites, etc.

Must verify part numbers, quantities, etc. of material incoming and outgoing.

Must verify and confirm part numbers as they are delivered to the assembly and machining operations.

Replenish production items to the assembly and machining operation throughout the shift. Must monitor and replenish as required utilizing first in first out (FIFO) policies.

Must understand the bill of material (BOM) - key sheets.

Must provide parts to the assembly line during a changeover without line interruptions utilizing key sheets that identify the parts required.

Utilizes hand-held scanners where required to track all engine movements.

As assigned process and dispose of scrap material as authorized.

Perform daily checklist for PIV equipment and/or scales and scanners needed to perform daily tasks.

Must replace forklift battery as required.

Understand proper use of material handling equipment, and function of line replenishment, shipping and/or receiving processes.

Maintain a safe environment that includes daily cleanup of area and assigned forklift.

Must be available to start before production startup and stay after assembly ends. This time will be utilized in assembly set up or other assignments.
Requirements:

3 years(external) 1 year (internal) relevant work experience in industrial and manufacturing environment.

Physically capable of lifting material up to 35lbs throughout the shift.

PIV certification is required.

Must be able to pass written and practical forklift testing.

Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures

Ability to communicate effectively for manufacturing production processes

Must be at least 18 years old
