Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and certified Forklift Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating forklifts in tight, confined spaces and demonstrate expertise in safely handling large, heavy items. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient movement and staging of housing modules and materials for production and assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate Forklift: Safely operate forklifts to lift, move, and position housing modules and other large items in confined spaces.
- Material Handling: Load, unload, and transport materials to designated staging areas or production lines.
- Staging and Organization: Accurately stage materials and components for production, ensuring alignment with project schedules and priorities.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all company and OSHA safety guidelines, including regular inspections of equipment and work areas.
- Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining inventory organization and accuracy by properly documenting material movements.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform basic maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues to the maintenance team.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with team members, supervisors, and logistics staff to ensure seamless workflow and project completion.
Qualifications:
- Valid forklift operator certification (required).
- Proven experience operating forklifts, particularly in confined or challenging spaces.
- Strong understanding of material handling and safety protocols.
- Ability to lift and handle heavy materials safely.
- Excellent spatial awareness and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
This position operates in a manufacturing/production facility setting. Candidates should be comfortable working in various weather conditions and adhering to safety standards in high-pressure environments.
