About the Job
Idaho Forest Group is currently seeking a Swing Shift forklift operator for our Boiler/Kiln to join our team in Grangeville.
This is an entry level position into the Boiler-Kiln Apprenticeship program. The selected candidate will advance through the Boiler-Kiln work up steps, attend the required training, and accrue the required hours in the program before reaching the top level.
Essential Functions:
- Comprehend and perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations and Job Safety Analysis’
- Comply with all company rules and regulations
- Must have a valid forklift certification.
- Dry lumber of all sorts using computer to control kilns
- Operate forklift to load and unload kilns and to move product
- Assist Planer Infeed Forklift Operator if time allows
- Complete daily paperwork and reports on computer
- Keep work area clean at all times – cleanup during and after shift – do not leave until cleanup complete
- Conduct required pre-operating checks on equipment prior to use
- Consistently keep a production level work pace
- Other duties directed by supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Previous Boiler/Kiln experience preferred.
- Must have valid forklift certification
- Must be able to work various shifts, days, and overtime as needed
- High School Diploma or GED ( or willingness to obtain GED)
- Valid Driver’s License is highly preferred

Physical Requirements:
Move safely, quickly, and perform duties with repetitious movement. Sit and/or stand for shift, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, twist, push and pull, maintain balance, bend at the waist, kneel, walk varying distances, and climb stairs. Must be able to tolerate all weather elements, loud conditions, vibrations, and airborne particles (sawdust).
