Position Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to transport, load, unload, and organize materials in the warehouse, storage facility, or production environment.

- Must be able to read and write English.
- Knowledge of packaging materials, production processes, quality control, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
- Knowledge of GMP, Standard Operating Procedures, & Food Safety Systems.
- Must be familiar with computers and be proficient in Microsoft Office.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Transport packaging material from the receiving area and packaging room to the production line equipment center’s staging area. Must be able to operate a forklift and/or pallet jacks.
- Remove finished pallets from the palletizer wrapper and ensure pallet/cards and slip sheets are intact. Verify the pallet card to ensure all regulatory information and product description is correct and readable. When applicable scan the pallet tag and enter the location of the inventory into the ERP system. Transport Pallet by Forklift to the warehouse (Shipping) and place in designated racks
- Decipher between the types of packaging material being pulled and to ensure FEFO/FIFO of the materials. Alert the Supervisor of any damage or defect to the pallet or material.
- Cycle Count of Inventory & computer input
- Ensure Forklift Safety compliance and other company policies and procedures.
- Verify items & quantities on packing slips and receive as necessary
- Perform Housekeeping task to maintain a clean workspace.
- Effectively communicates and collaborates with the functional areas of Material Coordinator, Production, & Warehousing.
- All other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor.
Education/Experience
Required:
- High School diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of related forklift driving/ Material Handler experience
