Qualifications: Minimum of 15 year(s) of experience OR BA/BS Degree in Agriculture, natural resources, agronomy or related field of study. Must have been certified as a Forest Silviculturist in the past 10 years. Experience required with Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, Forest Vegetation Simulator (FVS), Forest Service Activity Tracking System (FACTS) Duties: Primarily responsibility is to provide mentoring and coaching to Foresters or Silviculture. Silviculture Prescription: Reviews Silviculture diagnosis and prescriptions to ensure that plans, treatment, and harvesting techniques are compatible with long-range land management plans. 75% Develops, for each Trainee a detailed Training and Experience Plan. Meet with each Trainee to go over Training and Experience Plan and require each Trainee to answer questions concerning the experience. 15% Stand Improvement: Helps forester or silviculture, coordinate, and evaluate the timber stand Improvement program on a unit; help prescribe cutting practices based on an examination of stand conditions or other. 10% Other: Physical requirements: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform theessential functions of this position.
