Our organization is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Forensic Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to apply your engineering expertise in a forensic context, investigating a wide range of engineering problems related to structures, materials, and systems. The Permanent Forensic Engineer will be responsible for conducting thorough investigations, analyzing failures, and producing detailed reports. This role will require a high level of technical expertise, as well as exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
1. Conduct comprehensive forensic investigations into engineering failures, including site inspections, material testing, and data analysis.
2. Prepare detailed reports documenting the findings of forensic investigations, including the causes of failures and recommendations for preventing future occurrences.
3. Provide expert testimony in legal proceedings related to forensic engineering investigations.
4. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and legal professionals to solve complex engineering problems.
5. Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in forensic engineering and related fields, and apply this knowledge to your work.
6. Ensure all work is conducted in accordance with relevant professional and ethical standards.
7. Communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, including clients, legal professionals, and other engineers.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil, Structural, or related field) is required. An advanced degree in a related field is a plus.
2. Must hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
3. Minimum of 5+ years of experience in forensic engineering, structural engineering, or a related field.
4. Demonstrated experience in conducting forensic engineering investigations, including site inspections, material testing, and data analysis.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and produce clear, concise reports.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
7. Familiarity with relevant engineering software and tools.
8. Willingness to travel as required for site inspections and legal proceedings.
9. High level of professional and ethical standards, with a commitment to maintaining the highest levels of accuracy and integrity in all work.
