Full time status is defined as 30 -40 hours per week and Part Time status (Benefits eligible) is defined as 20-29 hours per week. 8 hour shifts with Day/Evening schedule to include every other weekend and holiday expectations
Summary
The population is predominantly geriatric, although occasionally the resident population includes some young adult and/or middle-aged residents.
The Food Service Worker position serves meals and snacks to our patients, residents, staff, and visitors in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as MLHS Nutrition Services policies and procedures.
Job Duties for Food Service Worker
- Serves the meal according to diet extensions following safe food handling procedures
- Ensures portion control, temperature and appearance of meal meets standards
- Assist with meal service as assigned
- Ensures timely beginning of meal service
- Operates dish machine to wash dishes, pots/pans and utensils
- Stores clean dishes according to standards
- Clean and sanitize food delivery equipment
- Follows cleaning and sanitizing procedures
- Perform work efficiently while maintaining a neat sanitary work area
- May set up, serve and clean up special catering events
- May be assigned to run cash register
- Assists in putting away groceries as assigned
- Prepares and delivers snacks per rotation
- Gathers and delivers requested stock to various departments
- Must complete all Healthstream training assignments

Job Duties for Cook
The Cook position prepares and serves food following menus and recipes in accordance in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations as well as MLHS Nutrition Services policies and procedures. Ensures high quality food service at all times.
- Prepares food according to menu, recipes, prep/pull sheets and diet extensions following safe food handling procedures
- Ensures portion control, temperature and appearance of all items meet standards
- Prepare, set up, serve and clean up special catering events
- Ensures timely beginning of meal service
- Assist with meal service as assigned
- Operates dish machine to wash dishes, pots, pans and utensils
- Stores clean dishes according to standards
- Clean and sanitize food delivery equipment
- Follows cleaning and sanitizing procedures
- Perform work efficiently while maintaining a neat sanitary work area
- Promptly report malfunctioning equipment to Manager, Lead, Nutrition Services Coordinator and/or Maintenance
- May be assigned to run cash register
- Put away groceries as assigned

- Health care industry experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- ServSafe certified
