Meridian HealthCare is looking to hire a full-time Food Service Worker to work at our Judge Joseph Donofrio Center Campus in Youngstown.

A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FOOD SERVICE WORKER

• Prepares a well-balanced and healthy menu each day.
• Follows all requests for special diets in order to assure good patient health.
• Maintains the kitchen area and supplies in a clean, safe and sanitary manner, upholding the standards of all federal, state and local licensure/regulations.
• Ensures that appliances (refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, freezer, etc.) are in operable condition.
• Places work orders on all appliances as needed.
• Maintains inventory and submits food/beverage orders to supervisor on a weekly basis.
• Receives menus and orders food for other programs.
• Maintains weekly/monthly food menu according to state/agency standards.
• Develops programming to improve life skills of clients (cooking programs).

SCHEDULE FOR A FOOD SERVICE WORKER

This position is working a 4 day work week! Hours are 10 hour shifts, rotating weekends, and holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A FOOD SERVICE WORKER

• Must be able to read and write; follow written and verbal instructions
• Measure and adapt recipes
• Operate a microwave, stove top and oven
• Maintain good personal hygiene and kitchen.
