Summary
Hours: Monday-Thursday 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. & Sundays 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. (Off Friday/Saturday)
Responsibilities:
- Cooking, serving, and providing high quality, nutritious meals for consumers, which include special needs of women recovering from substance abuse, children, diabetics and other special dietary needs. Responsible for use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss and waste.

Responsibilities:
- Adhere to all Palmer goals, strategies, and values.
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with Palmer Polices and state and federal laws.
- Role model appropriate behavior, professional boundaries, respectful communication, and personal appearance in accordance with Employee Dress Code.
- Serve food in a professional, friendly and courteous manner.
- Store, cook and properly handle raw or prepared foods.
- Comply with all established sanitation standards, health standards and personal hygiene standards following state, city and county Health Department standards and procedures.
- Correctly prepare all food following standard recipes and special diet orders.
- Assure meals and snacks are served on time. Food must be cooked and/or prepared to coordinate with meal times and snack times, so that quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.
- Close the kitchen, complete cleaning check list and ensure food/drink for the following morning breakfast is available and adequate amounts of food/drink are in the appropriate areas for BHT staff to access. Provide detailed heating/cooking/serving/storage instructions to the BHT staff before leaving.
- Keep dishes, kitchen equipment and kitchen area clean and sanitized.
- Participate in ongoing in-service education programs and staff development programs.
- Maintain knowledge of agency policies, procedures and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and/or Director.

Requirements
Requirements:- Current Oklahoma Department of Health Food Handler's Permit
- At least 2 years of experience cooking experience in food service
- Ability to follow recipes, cook and prep food products
- Knowledgeable in Health Department guidelines in safe food storage, food prep, cooking and sanitation
- Must be available evenings and weekends
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Computer skills include Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- If required to operate company vehicle, current Oklahoma Driver's License and acceptable driving record according to Motor Vehicles Records
- Previous working experience in a commercial kitchen, preferred
- Ability to lift 60 pounds
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Job requires twisting, lifting, standing, sitting, walking, stretching, kneeling, bending, and squatting.
