Description/Job Summary:
The Building People, LLC, has a position open for a full-time Food Services Manager for a complete facility maintenance program to support a federal Agency. The Food Services Manager works under the general supervision of the Project Manager in the day-to-day supervision, support, health, and welfare of students and staff eating in the dining facility. The Dormitory Manager manages the day-to-day, 24-hour operation of the dining area to ensure a safe and clean facility for everyone.
- Maintain the highest level of fine dining service to residents, guests, and team members.
- Perform food service management duties for FLETC
- Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the dining facilities
- Provide daily instruction and direction as needed to dining service team members.
- Train new employees and others, as needed.
- Maintain and take inventory
- Assist the Operations Manager in planning and conducting team member evaluations.
- Assist with special functions and catering events.
- Manage the seating and space out our seating as necessary.
- Update and maintain training skills, dining operations, and all other new pertinent information regarding the FLETC facility.
- The position is an ON-SITE position and will require being at different locations in North Charleston occasionally.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Shall possess at least 5 years of experience (within the past 10 years) supervising personnel and working in the food services profession.
- Experience in managing, planning, setting up, outfitting, and budgeting food services is mandatory.
- Shall have a valid Food Service Handling Certificate, which is to remain current through the life of the contract.
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift (up to 50 pounds /-).
- Must be able to speak clearly and listen effectively to employees, dining room staff, and residents.
- Professional appearance and attitude for daily interaction with residents, families, co-workers, and the public.
- Observe fiscal responsibility in the use of resources and purchases
- Shall not have a criminal record.
- Ability to operate a computer terminal.
- Shall have proficiency in oral and written communication in English.
- Ability to meet and deal with the public.
Preferred Experience/Skills:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management or related field desirable or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of seven years experience in fine dining events and/or catering.
Required Education:
- Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have 7 years experience
