SUMMARY OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Kitchen & Food Service Lead, you'll lead the site's Food Service team of Cooks and baristas. You will provide guidance to your team on the day-to-day activities of food prep, cooking, portioning meals, and serving our loyal customers. We're looking for team players who are organized, focused, accountable, and above all, bring a positive attitude every day.
JOB DUTIES:
- Responsible for all day-to-day activities for the site-level food services.
- Manage inventory controls and food orders.
- Coordinate Food Service Associates' and Baristas' schedules.
- Participate in the hiring of food service employees.
- Participate in performance management of the food services team.
- Prepare quality food and baked goods according to a planned menu
- Prepare a daily report that verifies transactions
- Help Food Service Associates and Baristas in their daily tasks
- Ensure proper adherence to SOPs, safety standards, and opening and closing procedures
- Ensure storage of food in an accurate and sanitary manner
- Serve food according to meal schedules, department policies, and procedures
- Use and care of kitchen equipment
- Timely preparation of a variety of food items, and beverages
- Coordinate and assist in major cleaning of refrigerators, freezers, and cooking and serving equipment
- Adhere to all food safety regulations for sanitation, food handling, and storage
- Adhere and ensure team's adherence to the uniform policy
- Connect with the food services team daily to instruct menu preparation for the day
- Supervise the food temperature requirements
- Maintain clean and organized work and storage areas
- Perform other duties as assigned including other areas in the kitchen
- Train new and existing employees on all aspects of Food Service operations

SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Experience as a cook or in a related role is required; previous experience in leading a team is preferred.
- Knowledge of food preparation principles, cooking methods, and food safety regulations is required.
- Experience operating specialized kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, grills, and food processors is preferred.
- Food Safety Manager's Certificate as needed
- Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills to guide and motivate the team.
- Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Be able to work quickly and concisely under pressure.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks such as bending, pushing, pulling, and standing for extended periods.
- Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required by store needs.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently with limited supervision.
- Sufficient education or training to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions.
